A man died in a stroke after taking Viagra, which was reportedly his last prescription.
The man was pronounced dead on Thursday at a private psychiatric hospital in Birmingham.
According to the UK's medical watchdog, it was not known whether Viagra was involved in the death.
The man died from an overdose of the drug, and was reportedly in stable condition after being hospitalized for several days.
In a statement, the British Medical Association said that the death of the man was “sustained”.
The statement added: “Following his death, it is important to recognise that a number of individuals have died in the psychiatric unit and its care teams are working together to support them in their recovery.”

“We’re committed to supporting men who are in the psychiatric unit to stay on track and take steps to reduce the likelihood of experiencing any adverse effects.”
The spokesman added that Viagra was the only medication to be prescribed for patients who had previously been prescribed Viagra, and was effective for at least two months.

A spokeswoman said the agency had received "significant feedback from consumers and pharmacists" and that the agency is working with them to develop a product that is safe and effective.
In May, the FDA issued a warning to the drug company about the risk of having an unwanted side effect of the drug.
The drug maker said it will continue to maintain the status quo.
The agency has not announced whether it will pull its products from shelves.
